The State Guard and Defense Force State Partnership Program (SGDF-SPP) is a national initiative designed to strengthen and advance State Defense Forces (SDFs) through strategic collaboration with public and private sector partners. Modeled conceptually after the National Guard’s State Partnership Program, the SGDF-SPP focuses on developing professional standards, expanding training opportunities, and fostering advocacy for State Defense Forces at both the state and federal levels.

Through partnerships with nationally recognized training institutions, professional organizations, corporations, and civic entities, the SGDF-SPP seeks to enhance the readiness, credibility, and sustainability of State Defense Forces. These partnerships provide mutual benefits facilitating access to training resources, sponsorship opportunities, community engagement, and shared innovation to support mission success.

The program’s mission is to elevate the professionalism and operational capability of State Defense Forces through collaboration, advocacy, and shared expertise ensuring that every SDF is prepared to serve its state and nation with distinction.
